Skunk Alley Run/Walk ~ June 2020, Homesteaders' Days, Hot Springs, MT
For a large number of years, the Skunk Alley Run/Walk has been a consistent event. It has always been a staple of Homesteader’s Days in Hot Springs the second weekend in June. This year’s date is June 15. There is a 10K run and a 5K run/walk. You will be ‘bussed’ from town to the beginning of the race down the hill back into Hot Springs. Watch this web site for registrations forms for the races.
Please join us at the Sanders County Fairgrounds Ag Building on Saturday, November 30 at 6:00 pm
for our final fundraiser of the calendar year. The lantern you purchase will add to the CNSC coffers and honor someone dear to you who has faced cancer. Lanterns are $10 each, and thanks to a generous donaor every penny of that money will go to the Cancern Network.
Music For Moms: CANCELED due to Covid-19
Please Take Care of Yourselves:
In response to the threat posed by the Corona Virus (Covid-19), Governor Bullock has issued a letter specifying the steps he is taking to help mitigate its effects. Click here to read his letter to Montanans.
In addition, CNSC will be suspending fund-raisers and other activities until further notice in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
We hope that the crisis will have passed enoough that we will be able to go ahead with both of these events, but we are taking things one day at a time. If restrictions continue, we will try to find other dates or alternative ways to proceed with these impotrtant fund-raisers.
As things evolve, information will be posted here. Please check back frequently for the latest news and updates.
Yard Sale-ing: currently suspended due to Covid-19
Skunk Alley Run: currently suspended due to Covid-19
Traditionally, this event occurs the Saturday before Mother’s Day and is held at the Rex Theater in Thompson Falls. But this year we are moving it to the Friday before Mother's Day. Artists from Sanders County gather together to play music, sing, and in general, have a good time. All of the people involved donate their time and talent for the show. There is no admission charge, but we do have a basket so you can make a donation to help us raise important funds. If you are a performer, let us know if you are willing to come perform!
Yard Sale-ing ~ June 26-27, 2020
Always the last full weekend in June, the Sanders County Yard Sale-ing event is the place to be! Organizations as well as individuals make Sanders County one huge yard sale from border to border.
This year we have a new venue sheltered from the wind ~ it's bigger, better, and drier.
CNSC will participate in the event again this year. The date has been finalized, so watch this site as well as the the official Sanders County Yard Sale-ing web site as the time draws closer.
If you have anything you would like to donate, call one of the CNSC contact persons – we will make an effort to gather up the goodies! It you like yard sales, you will love that weekend!
CNSC's next-to-last fundraiser of the year is the annual Fall Extravaganza. This became the signature fund raising effort 18 years ago when McGowan Grocery in Plains started a Wine & Cheese Tasting Event and Fashion Show in the basement of First State Bank in Plains.Since launching this fall fun fest, it has been held at First State Bank, Plains Grange, SC Fairground Pavilion, and the VFW hall, all in Plains.
This year we will return to at the VFW Hall in Plains once again, but we are considering a change in day and date. Watch for updates on the website as October nears.
A good time is had by all with games, raffles, a silent auction and a live auction. Every bit of the money raised that night goes directly back into the community in the form of gifts. Sponsorships are requested to cover all expenses. Additional information will be available closer to October.
Join us for one or all our fund-raining events during the year. Without your support at these activities and fun-filled evenings, we can't contiue to help your neighbors in need.
Throughout the year, Cancer Network of Sanders County holds a variety of events. We request sponsorship from many businesses in the county and from medical facilities in Montana who are likely to see patients from Sanders County. The money received from the sponsors goes directly to pay for any expenses incurred for the event. This means that every penny raised goes back out in the form of gifts to those fighting cancer. Pick one or several to attend and support.
