Our Mission Statement

The Cancer Network Of Sanders County Is a nonprofit, community-based organization
that provides support to residents of Sanders County, Montana, who are undergoing treatment for Cancer.

Although I wasn’t born here, I call Montana home since I went to school, high school, and college here. After some years of travel and soul searching, I got a degree in nursing from MSU. It was the right decision. I’ve had a very satisfying career in Sanders County as a home health and hospice nurse.

Kathy was born and raised in Paradise, MT, before moving to Syracuse, NY, for college. After graduation, she taught at Western State College, Gunnison, CO. She returned to the Midwest for graduate school, then taught at the University of Iowa. She found her dream job at The University of Montana, where she taught for over 20 years. Now retirement is full time, but CNSC is still a passion.

Steve grew up in Dublin CA; he enlisted in the US Navy serving as a reactor operator and electronics tech. After his service, he worked in the Operations and Training departments at a nuclear generating plant near Red Wing, MN, and earned a BS in Physics from Winona State University. He moved to Montana in 2016 when his wife, Carol, accepted a call as Pastor for First Lutheran Church in Plains and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Thompson Falls.

John was born in McGregor Iowa, but was raised in Minnesota. He is a retired US Navy Veteran.

"I moved from Portland, OR, to Plains in 2014 and I love it here!"

After 17 years she moved to Plains to start her own PT business; she practiced for another 9 years before retiring. Now she is enjoying retirement which includes traveling and having more time for Cancer Network fundraising.

Betty is from Minnesota but moved to Sanders County as a child. She  was one of the first nurses hired at Clark Fork Valley Hospital, where she worked for 25 years.
